The 33rd Shohei Juku Aikido Enbukai

On Sunday, April 28th, the 33rd Shohei Juku Enbukai was held at Fukuoka Sun Palace Hall. Approximately 1000 people from 100 groups participated. From overseas, Vancouver Shomonkai as well as Jikishin Dojo and Kando Juku from China participated.

I would like to sincerely express my appreciation to the event committee members, all the volunteers in each section and contributors for the event.

Incidentally, the next year will mark my fiftieth year since I came to Kyushu so we will hold the fiftieth anniversary enbukai at Sun Palace Hall on Sunday, April 19th. As we have invited Dohsu, Moriteru Ueshiba Sensei as well as Dojocho, Mitsuteru Ueshiba Sensei, I hope you’ll be looking forward to it.

Kaede Kyoreisai

An enbukai and a seminar for Kaede Kyoreisai (Mr. Hirotaka Osa, Dojo Rep) were held at Kushikino Junior High School Martial Arts Hall on Saturday, April 6th. People from Shoyukai, Terakoya Muso Juku, Kagoshima Aikido Renseikan, Kagoshima Aiki Shuren Dojo, Nagasaki Aikidokai Kanoya Dojo joined us as well.

Kumamoto Dojo

On Sunday April 7th, a seminar and an examination session for Kumamoto Dojo (Mr. Koichi Honda, Dojo Rep) were held at Kumamoto Martial Arts Hall. Many people from nearby dojos joined us. After the event, we had a party at Youth Pier Kumamoto as viewing cherry blossoms.

Seminar in Beijing

For two days, April 13th and 14th, a seminar was hosted by Jikisin Dojo (Mr. Shi Kin, Dojo Rep), and Kando Juku and Agatsu Kan also participated. Nine groups unaffiliated to Shohei Juku also joined us. The event was held at China Youth University of Political Studies Manyo Gymnasium. It was a lively seminar with a lot of young participants. Mr. Norishige Sakai accompanied me as he did last time.

Munakata Area Joint Examination

On Sunday April 21st, we had an examination and a seminar for the Munakata area dojos at Okagaki Town Martial Arts Hall. Seven dojos and two universities participated. We had 100 examinees.

In April, Dojos overseas visited Shohei Juku one after another.
